Diamonds or Precious stones are more common than you think!

According to Sarah Griffiths, scientists at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland say the formation of microscopic diamonds may be more common than previously thought.

  • They are created 90 to 120 miles (145 to 193km) beneath the Earth's surface
  • Chemical reaction that's responsible for formation is simpler than previously thought and is just a common redox reaction.

They may be considered a girl's best friend, treasured as a symbol of enduring love and wealth, but diamonds may not be as rare as you think.
US researchers say the formation of microscopic diamonds deep underground may be more common than previously thought.

They are born of a far simpler chemical reaction too - but the discovery will not make engagement rings any cheaper.
