Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the
appointment of Siju Alabi as the new General Manager of the state-owned Lagos
Television – LTV.
The new General Manager, a multi-award winning broadcaster,
elocution coach and trainer, is expected to bring her wealth of experience
garnered locally and internationally to improve the broadcast experience of the
station and positively impact the lives of Lagosians in general.
Siju Alabi began her illustrious broadcasting career at KUOR FM,
California in 1985 and subsequently relocated to Nigeria to garner more
experience with NTA Lagos as Newscaster/Continuity Announcer.
She also had a spell in corporate marketing but returned to the
screen working with Channels Television as News, Minaj Broadcast International
and Superscreen Television respectively.
In 2010, she left active broadcasting to focus on media
consultancy and training but her penchant for broadcasting made her join Lagos
Television in 2016 as Director News.
Siju has been recognised several times for her outstanding
performance in broadcast journalism; she was five times best Newscaster/TV
Presenter (Nigeria Media Merit Award), two times best television reporter on
HIV/AIDS (Red Ribbon Award) and Television Personality of the year (Rotary Club
of Onigbongbo) among several other awards.
The new General Manager had her secondary school education at
Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan (WAEC), Fontana School, Fontana California USA
(Diploma, General Education of the American Council) and the prestigious
University of Redlands, California USA (Mass Communications).
